ISHS Acta Horticulturae 569: I Latin-American Symposium on the Production of Medicinal, Aromatic and Condiments Plants

GROWTH AND PHOTOSYNTHETIC CHARACTERISTICS OF ANNATTO PLANTS

Authors:   S.N. Matsumoto, A.E.S. Viana, A.R. São José, A.D. Cardoso, M.A.G. Aguilar

Abstract:
Growth, chlorophyll, net carbon dioxide assimilation (A), stomatal condutance (gs), transpiration rate (E), intercellular dioxide concentration (Ci) and vapor pressure deficit (DPV) in leaves of annatto plants “Bico de Pato”, “Peruana CPATU I”, “Peruana CPATU III” and “Wagner” were observed in initial growth of plants. Although values of A seemed equivalent, differences of growth, chlorophyll, DPV, Ci, gs and E were verified. The differences in growth of varieties were resulted probably by alterations in leaf area.
