Abstract:
It is known that a climatic variation ocurs inside the “parral” plastic-house.
This variation has an effect on production and on water and fertiliser uptake.
In this work, cherry tomato plants were grown in a plastic-house under semi-arid conditions in the South East of Spain.
Rockwool slabs were used in the cultivation of autumn and spring cherry tomato crops.
The aim was to monitor the climatic variations and their effects on fertigation and production in order to optimise management of fertigation.
An important variation in water uptake and production were recorded.
The influence of climatic variation on production and fertigation parameters are evaluated and discussed in relation to both agro-system and season.
Different solutions are suggested to improve the production and mitigate effect of climatic variation inside the plastic-house.
