Abstract:
Rooting-capacity of cuttings or crowns taken from Rosmarinus officinalis and Limonium pectinatum mother plants waterlogged for different periods were studied.
Rooting percentage increased and dry weight ratio decreased when cuttings where obtained from R. officinalis mother plants waterlogged for 48 h or longer.
It also induced an increase in the xylem water potential of the cuttings.
Flooding only improved rooting percentage in L. pectinatum crowns taken from mother plants waterlogged for 96h.
Xylem water potential in these crowns was similar than the control ones.
Flooding had negative effect on L. pectinatum mother plants recovering.
After 28 days of stress treatments only 50% of 72 h and 96 h L. pectinatum mother plants were able to survive.
