Abstract:
Low thermal level water sources can be used as an auxiliary energy to control the greenhouse climate by means of a buried water pipes system. An adequate design of the soil heating system requires to know the influence of each design parameters involved in the heat transfer process. The transient heat flux density as a function of these parameters is, in particular, the principal characteristic to calibrate the on-off switch of the auxiliary energy equipment. In this paper, numerical solutions for a 2-D irregular mesh were obtained by means of the Network Simulation Method which provides, at the time, the unsteady temperature fields and heat flux rates as a function of the thermophysical and geometrical parameters of the system, such as thermal conductivity of the soil and distance between pipes and pipe depth
