ISHS Acta Horticulturae 550: XVIII International Symposium on Virus and Virus-like Diseases of Temperate Fruit Crops - Top Fruit Diseases

MOLECULAR CHARACTERIZATION OF PLUM POX VIRUS ALMOND ISOLATE

Authors:   D. Pribék, L. Palkovics, R. Gáborjányi
Abstract:
Coat protein (CP) genes of different Hungarian isolates of PPV, representing both D and M serotype were compared by RT-PCR. Amplified fragments were digested by virus strain-specific restriction enzymes (DraI, RsaI, SfuI). Restriction profiles showed the almond isolate (Pa1) belonged to D serotype. Nucleotide sequence of CP gene was also determined and the results confirmed the similarity of almond isolate to other isolates of D serotype.
