OPTIMAL SOLUTIONS IN LABOUR MANAGEMENT

Author:   F. Frigyesy
Abstract:
In the course of growing different detail works have to be accomplished, each of which contributes to guarantee the yield of desired quantity and quality in the proper time. On the other hand if the works are neglected or not dealt with properly or in the right time losses can result. Accordingly, “values” can be established for each detail work.

Production capacity (e.g. labour), however, can seriously handicap the executions of detail works going on the same time, on the other hand weather conditions or some other accident may cause loss of work hours or days.

By means of linear programming works were organized in such a manner as to guarantee the maximal contribution of the different activities going on in the same time to yield evolution and to reduce losses to minimum in case of work accumulation. Solution was elaborated in several variations as production capacity is variable and working conditions are not always guaranteed.

In our model the harvest of strawberry and sour cherry as well as the hoeing of vine respectively, fully illustrate the amount of production value at risk if work is neglected or not done in the proper time and manner. In the same time they can indicate what organization form to choose or which work to omit in time of need in order to reduce losses.
