ISHS Acta Horticulturae 55: IV Symposium on Horticultural Economics

SOME OBSERVATIONS ABOUT THE INTERDEPENDENCE BETWEEN METHOD DEVELOPMENT, IMPLEMENTATION AND THE CLIENT/CONSULTANT RELATIONSHIP FROM EXPERIENCE WITH A METHOD FOR RESULT-ANALYSIS AND PLANNING OF HORTICULTURAL FIRMS

Author:   M. Carlsson
Abstract:
At the 2nd and 3rd Symposia papers describing some different "task" aspects of the Swedish TEU-method for result analysis and planning of horticultural firms were presented This paper contains some experiences from the implementation and method development work.

First a summary of the discussion of similar problems in the literature (advisory service, operation research, “the Kolb-Frohman Organization Development Approach to consulting”) is presented. Then different steps of the implementation work within TEU are described and some remarks are given about the consultant/client relationship in TEU. It is finally shown how implementation aspects have had consequences for the method development work.
