ISHS Acta Horticulturae 546: International Symposium on Molecular Markers for Characterizing Genotypes and Identifying Cultivars in Horticulture

INTROGRESSION OF A PARTIAL RESISTANCE TO PHYTOPHTHORA CAPSICI LEON. INTO A PEPPER ELITE LINE BY MARKER ASSISTED BACKCROSSES

Abstract:
Breeding for resistance to diseases is a major challenge in pepper and many resistance used in breeding programs have a partial effect and are under polygenic control. Thanks to molecular markers, genomic regions involved in complex resistance could be determined. The goal of this work is to transfer QTLs of resistance to Phytophthora capsici into a large-fruited pepper line.
