| Abstract:
The affinities of the shrubby cultivars of Lavatera L. were investigated using morphological and molecular techniques. In phenotypic and genotypic characters, the majority of cultivars were found to be intermediate between L. olbia L. and L. thuringiaca L., suggesting hybrid status. Some cultivars distinguishable morphologically were not distinguishable using the RAPD technique. | |
