Abstract:
The aim of this investigation was to determine if there is a correlation between the distribution of dry matter at the marketing stage and the postproduction quality of potted miniature roses. Correlations of the total data material indicate that there were a dependency between the postproduction quality and the distribution of dry matter at marketing. The dry weight of single flowers (mg/flower) was negatively correlated with the number of days to 50 % wilting. Both the dry weight of the green buds, and the number of green buds were positively correlated with days to 50 % wilting. Our results also show differences between cultivars. The postproduction quality of the cultivars Dreaming Parade® and Charming Parade® were both correlated to the distribution of dry matter at marketing stage. Each of the cultivars had different correlative patterns in that the postproduction quality in Dreaming was positively and Charming was negatively correlated to the distribution of dry matter.
