Abstract:
Progenies of interspecific crosses between two types of chrysanthemum (autumn flower type and summer-autumn flower type) and eight Dendrathema species (D. arcticum subsp.
Maekawanum, D. boreale, D. indicum, D. occidentali-japonese var. ashizuriense, D. ornatum, D. pacificum, D. yoshinaganthum D. zawadskii var. latilobum) were grown under natural day length or 10hr short day conditions.
The progenies of summer-autumn flower type chrysanthemum flowered earlier than those of autumn flower type in all combinations.
There was no difference in flowering time in some reciprocal cross combinations.
Progenies of early flowering Dendrathema species produced early flowering progenies regardless of the chrysanthemum genotype.
