Abstract:
The South African deciduous fruit industry depends on the development and procurement of new varieties.
The shorter life cycles of new fruit varieties expected in the future and the demand for new products, supports the breeding and development of new varieties. Two bright yellow plums ‘Sun Kiss’ and ‘Sundew’ and the full red apple ‘African Carmine TM’ have recently been released to the industry.
