ISHS Acta Horticulturae 538: Eucarpia symposium on Fruit Breeding and Genetics

WILD SPECIES AND DISTANT HYBRIDS OF APRICOT ARE THE SOURCES OF RESISTANCE TO MONILIA LAXA EHRENB. AND HIGH CONTENT OF BIOLOGICALLY-ACTIVE SUBSTANCES IN FRUITS

Authors:   L.D. Komar-Tyomnaya, A.A. Richter
Keywords:   Armeniaca spp., hybrids, cultivars
Abstract:
The chances to select from 36 species, forms, varieties, interspecific and distant hybrids of apricot from collection of the State Nikita Botanical Garden were studied. Resistance to Monilia laxa and chemical composition of fruits were determined. Forms for hybridization were selected. The biochemical value of composition of fruits studied enable breeding of varieties with enriched biologically - active substances and with new sensory profiles and untraditional appearance.
