BEARING POTENTIAL OF STANDARD AND SELECTED POZEGACA

Author:   T. Milosevic
Keywords:   Bearing potential, correlation, plum, Pozegaca, yield
Abstract:
A number of studies and experiences gained in and out of the country confirm that, in terms of fruit quality, Pozegaca plum is superior to all the other plum cultivars recorded in the pomological science worldwide. The knowledge of Pozegaca bearing potential is of paramount biological, commercial and practical importance due to its outstanding economic value in domestic plum production. Investigation results have shown that standard Pozegaca has a better bearing potential, resulting in higher yields of smaller fruits per tree and per hectare compared to the selected one which has a lower bearing potential but larger-sized fruits.
