Authors:   M.I. Iglesias-Díaz, J.L. Fernández-Lorenzo, O. Gutiérrez-Araujo
Keywords:   clonal selection, micropropagation, cutting propagation, banding, Quercus robur 'Fastigiata'
Abstract:
The macro and micropropagation of a centenarian clone of Quercus robur 'Fastigiata' growing in Galicia was intended. The effect of banding on the rooting of cuttings, both qualitatively and quantitatively was studied testing different timings of taking cuttings. Furthermore, shoot tips and nodal explants obtained from forced shoots of branch segments were established and multiplicated in vitro. In this case, factors as time of removal of branch segments, basal medium, agar brand, and light intensity were studied.
