ISHS Acta Horticulturae 533: VIII International Symposium on Timing Field Production in Vegetable Crops

THE INFLUENCE OF WEATHER CONDITION AND ROOT HARVEST TIME FOR FORCING USABILITY OF CHICORY CULTIVARS

Author:   J.M. Babik
Keywords:   chicory witlof, maturity, weather conditions
Abstract:
The influence of weather conditions on maturity of chicory cultivar Magnum was determined in the experiment with hydroponic forcing. Chicory was sown in the middle and at the end of May. Some weather factors, expressed in total solar radiation (kWh/m2), accumulated light intensity (klx-hours) and accumulated air temperature (°C-days) were monitored every 15 minutes from beginning of germination up to the last root harvest time.
