ISHS Acta Horticulturae 533: VIII International Symposium on Timing Field Production in Vegetable Crops

EFFECTS OF MANURING ON CAULIFLOWER DEVELOPMENT AND YIELDS

Authors:   V.&s.;i. Bjelic, L. N. Stankovic, R.&s.; M. Pavlovic
Keywords:   field trial, pseudogley, curd, decade, curd diameter
Abstract:
The manure applied had a rather strong effect on cauliflower development (curd formation). Cauliflower curd development results were more intensive in trial variants with greater manure quantities. On average curd diameter increase per decade amounted to 2.43 cm (ranging from 0.14 to 5.71 cm). The largest curd diameter was recorded in the trial variant with 45 t/ha of manure (18.79 cm).

Cauliflower yields were rather high, and on average amounted to 20.36 t/ha. The effects of manure on cauliflower yields were very favorable. The best effects were recorded in the trial variant with 45 t/ha of manure, with the highest yield (23.38 t/ha).
