Abstract:
This study was conducted to determine the effects of Vivia Fý and Zeynep Fý indeterminated tomato varieties and four sowing dates (1st February, 15th February, 1st March, 15th March) and four unheated tunnel types (double layer high plastic tunnel, single layer high plastic tunnel, perforated single layer low plastic tunnel, mini plastic tunnel) on earliness, early and total yield under Tokat conditions, during 1993 growing periods. The seedlings were transplanted to unheated single layer high plastic tunnel. Significant differences were found for earliness, early yield and total yield between varieties and among tunnel types. Sowing date differences were not significant. Among varieties, the highest early and total yields were obtained from Vivia Fý variety (130.62 t/ha, 299.36 t/ha respectively). According to the tunnel types, the highest early yield and total yield were taken from seedling cultivation under double layer high plastic tunnel (138.85 t/ha, 308.67 t/ha respectively). Four week earliness was obtained compared to open field production.
