Abstract:
In the present study fruticulture in the Soconusco Region was investigated with special attention to the Sapotaceae family. Differing results of morphological, ecophysiological, agronomic and marketing parameters were based on field studies and farm analysis. In the study area we found a widespread variety of Pouteria sapota types, an increased interest in growing Manilkara zapota and slight increase of Chrysophyllum cainito trees in the orchards.
