Abstract:
Higher nitrogen levels (up to 106.6 kg/ha) greatly increased vegetative growth of two local cultivars of eggplant.
The effect of different nitrogen levels on flowering, fruit set and yield was, however, not significant.
Nitrogen fertilization did not affect fruit size and pH but it significantly influenced % TSS, % titratable acidity and the ascorbic acid content of the fruits.
