THE CREATION OF NEW TABLE VARIETIES WITH IMPROVED PROPERTIES |

| Abstract:
In order to create new table varieties with improved biological and technological properties, it was performed a crossing of the variety Drenak Crveni, which has female flowers with varieties: Queen of vineyards, Muscat of Hambourg, Emperor, Afuz Ali, Smederevka, Calmeria, Taifi rozoovyi, Flame Tokay, Muscat Italia and Seyve-Villard 108. 4294 seedlings were produced. Using the results of many years of investigations (1981-1995), 133 seedlings with hermaphroditic flowers were chosen, which exhibited better characteristics, compared to the parents (cluster weight, berry weight, sugar and total acids contents in the juice, skin colour, etc.). Statistically significant differences were obtained. The future interest and work will be connected with seedlings with big berries (4-8 g), big clusters (300-700 g), high sugar content in the juice (18-20%), better transportability, better tolerance to the diseases and winter temperatures. | |
