Abstract:
A population of 150 individual plants derived from the crossing of the fungus-disease resistant grapevine variety “Regent” to the susceptible cultivar “Lemberger” was used to initiate molecular mapping in grapevine.
RAPD markers applied at first to a small subset of 47 individuals followed by extended analysis on 150 individuals revealed 11 linkage groups when the “double pseudotestcross strategy” was followed for mapping calculations.
These data provide a first basic framework for the establishment of molecular maps from European grapevines and the possibility to identify genes involved in fungus disease resistance as QTLs.
