TREE-ROW-VOLUME A NEW WAY FOR THE REGISTRATION OF PLANT-PROTECTIVE AGENTS IN ORCHARDS ? RESULTS OF 3-YEAR FIELD TRIALS IN AUSTRIAN APPLE ORCHARDS

Keywords:   application, tree-row-volume, fruit-trees, fruit-crops, fungicides, pesticides
Abstract:
During three years of field trials the Tree-Row-Volume formula was adapted to the conditions of different Austrian fruit growing regions. A working group was engaged in questions of sprayer adjustment, deposit and drift measurements. The incidence of diseases (and in 1997 also pests) was assessed. In 4 field trials in Styria and in Lower Austria the average leaf scab was at 46% (fruit scab 47%) in the untreated plots. In each trial the infestation of the treated plots was very low and there were no significant differences between the Tree-Row-Volume plots and the standard plots. The reduction of fungicides in the Tree-Row-Volume treated plots was up to 30%.
