Abstract:
In the latter part of the 20th century 'Human Issues in Horticulture' -approach has come up in many European countries.
The horticultural industry might find new markets if the benefits of people-plant interaction, gardening, and better near-by nature could be shown to the decision-makers.
People-Plant Council News is a quarterly publication linking horticulture with human well-being and increasing people-plant interaction awareness.
In November 1997 a letter was sent to all 65 People-Plant Council News European addressees asking for information on research, education, and application activities in Human Issues in Horticulture in Europe.
We got 15 answers.
Also an information search in databases was done.
The present article summarizes the gathered European information.
