Abstract:
In satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu Marc.), the sucrose is transported from leaves and accumulated in vacuoles of juice sacs during fruit development.
To investigate the molecular mechanisms on the sucrose accumulation in citrus fruit, we report the sequences of partial cDNAs encoding vacuolar-type proton ATPase B and c subunits from Citrus unshiu.
Partial cDNAs (pATP-B and pATP-c) encoding vacuolar-type proton ATPase B and c subunits were isolated by RT-PCR. The percentage of identities between C. unshiu and corresponding sequences of other higher plants at the protein level were more than 97%, respectively.
Therefore, it is indicated that partial cDNAs isolated by RT-PCR are partial homologous cDNAs encoding vacuolar-type proton ATPase B and c subunits of Citrus unshiu.
