Abstract:
A progeny of apple triploid x diploid cross Jonagold x McIntosh Wijcik and the regenerants from leaves of five selected hybrids have been submitted to the screening of flow cytometry analysis.
Most of the hybrids revealed aneuploid.
Spontaneous genetic variability occurred after adventitious budding on the leaves of aneuploid hybrids.
Polyploid and mixoploid clones have been established ex vitro following rooting or grafting procedures.
The data assessed the successful use of embryo rescue, adventitious regeneration and micropropagation as in vitro culture techniques to create genetic diversity in apple, quickly available to the breeders for comportment analysis in the orchard.
