PREFACE

Invited and keynote speakers and selected authors of offered oral papers and posters had the opportunity to submit their manuscripts for publication in this volume of the series Acta Horticulturae.

Submitted manuscripts were reviewed by at least two members of the Editorial Board and amended according to the referee suggestions prior to acceptance. The Editorial Board could not accept all manuscript submitted for publication.

The ISHS acknowledges the cooperation received from the Editors and Editorial Board on reviewing the manuscripts which was a significant contribution to the overall quality of the publication.

FOREWORD

Horticulture, technology and modelling are closely related fields, although they are often dealt with in separation. At the XXV International Horticultural Congress we have been very pleased to find authors that managed to bridge these fields. In this issue a selection of the oral and poster contributions that were presented at the Congress are brought together. I believe that they give an interesting overview and background information of subjects that are right now under investigation in the scientific community dedicated to horticulture.

I am very grateful to the Editorial Board that supported the reviewing process and to the authors who were prepared to revise their manuscripts within the time constraints set by the organization.
