Keywords:   Common storage, lemon, relative humidity, temperature
Abstract:
This research was carried out in order to improve the conditions of common storage caves in Urgup for storage of Lemon. The storage caves are naturally or artificially made of volcanic materials and they have been used for storage of horticultural crops especially citrus. Lemons were stored in two types of storage rooms. These are ; a) natural air cooled common storage rooms in Ortahisar (Urgup), b)common large traditional natural air cooled storage rooms in Urgup. Storage temperature and relative humidity were measured interval weekly by thermohygrografs.

According to the obtained results, the improved common storage rooms gave better results than those of the common rooms used by people from the quality point of view of stored lemons.
