Controlled-Environment Agriculture systems have been developed in several desert locations where the environmental conditions limit conventional production methods. Development of techniques to conserve water (in some cases desalted water), the use of indigenous sands for growing medium, cooling of enclosures with brackish water are all vital parts of these programs. | |
