THE INFLUENCE OF TEMPERATURE AND SOIL MOISTURE ON THE INCIDENCE OF ERWINIA CAROTOVORA VAR. CAROTOVORA IN FORCED DUTCH IRISES

Author:   W. Kamerman
Abstract:
Dutch irises forced in glasshouses in The Netherlands may develop a wet rot caused by Erwinia carotovora var. carotovora. The bacterium may remain viable on or in bulbs and in the soil for several months. High glasshouse temperatures and excessive water supply proved to enhance the incidence of the disease.
