Abstract:
Interspecific crosses of C. persicum and other species of this genus offer the opportunity to introduce traits of economic interest into new breeding material.
Procedures to get interspecific hybrids of C. persicum x C. purpurascens were described recently by Ishizaka and Uematsu (1995) and Ewald (1996). To check the commercial use clonal propagated bastard plants were compared to seed-derived plants of the parental species used.
