Abstract:
Mode of the inheritance of flower colour in reciprocal crosses between diploid cyanic and yellow-flowered cyclamen cultivars was investigated.
No yellow-flowered F1 progeny was obtained in the crosses.
All the F1 progenies were cyanic.
In the F2 progenies, yellow-flowered plants were found.
The segregation ratio of flower colours in the F2 progenies fitted the expected Mendelian ratio, showing the yellow-flowered phenotype was controlled by a recessive gene.
