Abstract:
The reference collection of the genus Hydrangea established in Angers includes now 380 accessions.
Although the main number of taxa belongs to H. macrophylla Ser., 13 species are present.
For a good management of the collection (typing of varieties, search of synonyms…) and a better knowledge of the genus, most of the taxa form the subject of a morphological study.
Data analysis have been realised on 292 cultivars of H. macrophylla Ser., 28 qualitative criteria and 5 quantitative criteria were used.
These multidimensional analysis allow us to separate and to characterise two subspecies (macrophylla and serrata) and to point out some hybrids.
