LEAF-CULTIVATION OF GINKGO FOR MEDICINAL USE

Authors:   H. Shan-An, S. Shi, L. Wan-Gou
Keywords:   Active component, Environmental factor, Genetic resource
Abstract:
The intensive use on natural medicines has become a hot tide in the world. The wild resources, however, are often exhausted easily, once a species is put in use. Examples can be found from Dioscorea, Astragalus, Glycyrrhiza, and Dendrobium, with some of samples having been quite abundant in the wild previously. At present a necessity of ginkgo leaf resources has reached more than 6,000 tons annually. The authors suggested that Ginkgo biloba might be a good example in resolving such a complicated problem. A series of studies have been done and a comprehensive concept to provide adequate and qualified resources was presented in this paper.
