| Abstract:
Between 1970 and 1974, summer cuttings and conifer cuttings were placed in German (normal brown, TKS I, and TKS II), Finnish (ST400 AO, B6, and CO), and Russian (Novobalt) peat to root. These peats were used pure or mixed with the normal quantities of sand. Generally, the cuttings rooted better when stuck in unfertilized peats to which sand had been added in the quantities mentioned. Nevertheless, it is possible to root cuttings to a certain extent with the other mixtures and this offers possibilities for export for some nurserymen. | |
