COMPOST NUTRIENT BALANCE: EFFECTS ON GROWTH OF TOMATO PLANTS, FRUIT QUALITY AND YIELD

Abstract:
High incidence of blotchy ripened fruit can be expected on plants growing in composts containing high lime level, limestone of high Ca/Mg balance, low salt level, fertilizer of low K/N balance whilst blossom-end-rot will be higher on plants growing in composts containing low lime level, limestone of low Ca/Mg balance, high salt level and fertilizer of low K/N balance.
