| Abstract:
Stem segments of 17 Chinese chestnut cultivars were inoculated with and evaluated for resistance to Cryphonectria parasitica. The canker area differed among the cultivars. The cultivars were most diverse on blight resistance after inoculation with hypovirulent isolate or virulent isolate. Most of the Chinese chestnut cultivars were resistant to virulent strains, the cankers were small or gradually constricted through callus formation. The response of the same cultivar was different between hypovirulent strain and virulent strain. | |
