Abstract:
High oil content in the seed increases essentially the profitability of growing pumpkins for salad oil production as the average yield is only about 800 kg seed per hectare.
From 100 different breeding lines (F4, F5, F6) grown in 1993 to 1995, some morphological characters were recorded and set in relationship by pairs with the use of cluster analysis to each other and to the oil content of the seed.
The probabilities of the correlations of the classes of one trait to the classes of a second trait state that high oil yield is primarily possible by growing bushy breeding lines.
