Abstract:
Eight trials to determine the degradation curves for nine pesticides are presented and discussed. The products studied were: diazinon 60% EC, dimethoate 40% EC, pirimiphosmethyl 50% EC, fenitrothion 50% EC, malathion 50% EC, methyl-parathion 24% CS, quinalphos 24% EC, trichlorfon 80% SP and chlorpyrifos 48% EC. The trials were conducted throughout the year at different crop stages both in open air and under greenhouse cultivation. The pesticides were sprayed using a low pressure system. Analyses of plant material (fruit) were done at times T-0, T+0, T+7, T+14, T+21 and T+28 (T+/-n refers to time in days since treatment). Results indicate that after a period of 7–14 days, the legal MRL (maximum residue level) of Spain was exceeded for the following substances: methyl-parathion, pirimiphos-methyl and quinalphos.
