Abstract:
The main requirements for improvements in the handling, presentation and storage of horticultural produce in Kenya are:
- marketing at the optimum stage of maturity,
- avoidance of improper handling,
- use of appropriate containers,
- provision of adequate transport facilities,
- grading of produce at collection centres,
- appropriate packing for internal and for external sales,
- increase in cold storage facilities.
