STUDIES REGARDING THE INFLUENCE OF THINNING ON PRODUCTIVITY AND QUALITY OF APRICOT FRUITS

Authors:   A. Chira, L. Chira, V. Balan
Keywords:   blooming, efficiency index
Abstract:
In the present study we have investigated the influence of fruit thinning on Comandor, Dacia and Olymp cultivars which are grown in the competition culture at the Institute of Fruit Growing Baneasa - Bucharest. The experiment has demonstrated the economical interest of thinning, without reducing the production and allowing the increase of the medium calibre of the fruits and of the soluble solids content. The best results were obtained for the variants where the thinning was made 25 days after blossom. The index of the economical efficiency was higher than the control.
