Abstract:
They were obtained more than 1000 hybrid pits as a result of the breeding project carried out in Japan and in Bulgaria.
The Ansu cultivars were relatively easily crossed with the European cultivars.
Most of the interspecific hybrids (P. salicina Lindl.
X P. armeniaca var. ansu Maxim.; P. mume Sieb. et Zucc.
X P. armeniaca var. ansu Maxim.; P. salicina Lindl.
X P. mume Sieb. et Zucc.) used as female parents gave few fruit or no fruit set after crossing.
The obtained pits did not germinate after planting.
