INVESTIGATION ON CHARACTERISTICS OF APRICOT CULTIVARS IN ERZINCAN-TURKEY |

| Abstract:
In this study, the flowering period, pollen germination, fruit set in free and self pollination, days from full bloom to harvest time, productivity and some fruit characteristics for five apricot cvs. in Erzincan conditions were determined. The flowering period was between late March and early April. But, the flowering of Mahmudun Erigi cultivar was observed two or four days later than that of other cultivars. The highest pollen germination was determined at Hasanbey cultivar and its rate was 72.15 % in 15 % sucrose solution. Fruits sets of self were generally lower than free pollination. Days from full bloom to harvest time varied between 97 (Karacabey)- 102 (Hasanbey, Sekerpare) days. Productivity for cvs. ranged from 0.65 kg/cm2 to 1.09 kg/cm2. The weight of fruit was found to be between 24.82g (Sekerpare) and 61.89g (Salak). | |
