Abstract:
A collection of 16 "Pomodorini di Corbara" ecotypes was characterised in terms of biomorphology, yield, quality and processing suitability.
The 16 accessions may be combined into homogeneous groups according to plant growth type (indeterminate and determinate) and fruit shape (elongate, oval, round and pear-shaped). Most of the ecotypes showed valuable fruit quality characteristics which make them particularly suitable for industrial processing, especially those with oval-shaped fruit, which combine a high yield with optimal characteristics both in the fresh and processed product.
