Abstract:
The effect of the application of various growth retardants on a cultivation of Zantedeschia aethiopica, transplanted at the end of spring, was studied for its utilization as pot plant. These products were: flurprimidol, paclobutrazol, daminozide and ancymidol, at different concentrations.

At the end of the year, only some of the plants treated with ancymidol and daminozide flowered. As a rule, the application of growth retardants reduced the size of the plant, causing deformations in leaves when were employed to high concentrations. The results were different according to the used concentrations and products. The plants were not receptive to the different concentrations of daminozide, and were a little more compact with ancymidol to 5 and 10 mg a.i. per pot. Paclobutrazol and flurprimidol strongly reduced plant height at all concentrations.
