JASMONIC ACID INFLUENCES ON IN VITRO PROPAGATION OF HYACINTHOIDES PAIVAE

Authors:   M.C. Feijóo, I. Iglesias, C. Gómez
Keywords:   Hyacintoides paivae, Jasmonic acid, in vitro bulbing, photoperiod
Abstract:
Bulbs of Hyacintoides paivae S. Ortiz & Rodr.- Oubiña, an endangered and ornamental species of NW of Spain, were successfully in vitro regenerated. The effect of jasmonic acid (JA), in a wide range of concentrations (0.0 to 10 μM), on bulb formation in tissue culture was studied. In vitro bulbing was promoted by 0.01 μM JA with or without (BA+NAA) at light or darkness.
