Abstract:
The effects of 13 year of soil fertilisation were studied over a period of four year. In the experiment, trees, soil and apple fruit from nine treatments with different doses of N, P, K and Mg were compared. The following attributes were evaluated: chemical and biological properties of soil and plants, and quality and yield of fruit. Fruit after harvest were stored in air at 2°C for 5 months. After thirteen years of fertilisation, no significant differences in growth, flowering, fruit set were found, and only a very small effect on yield was observed. However, there was significant effect on quality of fruit, including firmness, colour, soluble solids, and incidence of diseases and physiological disorders.
