| Abstract:
This paper reviews the results obtained to date in Angers on spontaneous haploid plants and in vitro haploidization. The different methods of obtaining such plants are compared and discussed. Results on doubling the number of chromosomes are reported. The first doubled haploid apple plant, now in the fruiting stage, is described. The first results on haploid meiosis analysis are presented and the origin of the apple is discussed. | |
