Abstract:
The antagonistic abilities of seven Trichoderma sp. isolations on Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. dianthi in controlling vascular whitering in the ‘Tanga’ and ‘Nora’ standard carnation cultivars were evaluated.
The soil was desinfected with 1,3-dichloropropen + chloropycrine, 30 days before sowing.
In addition, the soil was mixed with rice shell which had been inoculated with antagonists, 15 days before the beds will be picked up.
Before sowing, the roots were washed during a minute with a solution containing 10 antagonist conidia per ml.. The pathogen and controller populations on the soil were counted.
The most efficient isolations were T7 in 'Tanga and the combination of two Trichoderma sp. isolations T2B-T18 in ‘Nora’ and the T17 isolation that controlled the disease in the two carnation cultivars.
