Abstract:
Turkey is the leading country in dried fig production both in terms of quantity and quality.
Even so, there are many problems that need to be solved.
To identify the main problems present at the farmer's level and to determine the main sources of failure, a survey was conducted in the Big Meander Valley, the main center of dried fig production.
A questionnaire in which questions related to orchard establishment, cultural practices, pests and diseases, physiological disorders, harvest, drying and extension work take place was prepared. 112 farmers representing the region were selected and interviewed.
The results are statistically analyzed and evaluated in terms of the appearing problems.
